Apple is preparing for something to happen at the top end of its iPod range, it seems.

A report on Apple Insider explains the company to have told some retailers to add the 60GB iPod to a "warning list".

Inclusion on such a list doesn't always mean anything dramatic, Apple Insider explains: "It's the company's way of warning resellers that it may make changes to that product, replace it with a newer model, offer a price reduction, or discontinue it."

The report then speculates Apple may replace the music player with a 'true' video iPod.
