Sirius Satellite Radio CEO Mel Karmazin is keen to get satellite radio onto the iPod, but there are issues about how the monthly fee would be split.

Karmazin told MarketWatch that he had dinner on Monday night with Apple CEO Steve Jobs and other digital entertainment-related executives at a conference.

He explained that while it is easy to include satellite radio on an MP3 player, the issue is how much of Sirius's $12.95 monthly fee would have to be split with a manufacturer.

"If we don't do a deal, our current business plan is just fine," Karmazin said.

Satellite radio, like the US companies XM or Sirius, has yet to appear in Europe.
