Apple's iPod mini has won Japan's much-prized 'Good Design Award', also known as 'G-Mark'.

The award is presented by Japan's Ministry of International Trade and Industry. Products in receipt of the award are recognised for: "attaining the improvement in qualitative of lives and the advancement of industry through design".

Awards are presented in several categories, including Ecology, Interaction, Small/Medium Enterprises, "Long-selling", and Product Design. The iPod mini took the Gold Prize in the latter category.
