Apple's iPod is in the running to win yet another award - New Designer's award for the UK's favourite design.

Both the iPod (designed by Jonathan Ive) and the World Wide Web (invented by Tim Berners-Lee) are mentioned in the poll. The winning designers will be elected by a public vote through the New Designer website.

Pioneering UK designers Ella Doran, Kevin McCloud, Alice Rawsthorn, Sebastian Conran, James Dyson, Barber Osgerby and Wayne Hemingway have contributed to the early stages of the New Designers iconic design poll by nominating their favourite design by a UK-born or based designer.

Other designs awaiting the public vote include: the Millennium Dome, the Tate Modern, the Air Chair and the Rolling Bridge at Paddington.

New Designers is a regular UK graduate design exhibition that has been running for twenty years.

The winner of the poll will be announced at the New Designers event at Islington's Business Design Centre, London on June 30 when the exhibition opens.
