iPods, mobile phones and Sushi are the latest must-haves for UK office workers, according to a recent poll conducted by recruitment specialists Office Angels.

The poll of 1,500 people found that 67 per cent of office workers see gadgets - including Blackberrys and flash memory sticks - to be the "ultimate status symbols", Reuters reports.

The response was so strong that Office Angels has defined people in love with these gadgets as GOSSIPS. That stands for 'Gadget Obsessed Status Symbol Infatuated Professionals'.

A hefty 45 per cent of the 1,500 people polled also believe office workers should hike about with two mobile phones, one for personal activity, the other for work-related calls.

Office workers also spend up to £10 each week on coffee, even if free coffee is available where they work, Reuters adds.
