Apple has released iSync 1.1, with the update introducing support for over 20 mobile phones from Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and Siemens.
Version 1.1 also introduces the capacity to synchronize Safari bookmarks between Macs.
Apple senior vice president of applications Sina Tamaddon said: "Mobile phones are a part of everyday life for millions of us, and iSync 1.1 now lets us easily take our contacts and calendars everywhere we go, right on our mobile phone. iSync 1.1 brings Apple's incredible sync technology to over 90 per cent of teh US wireless market."
Nokia Mobile Software director Mika Saravirta added: "iSync 1.1 demonstrates the seamless interaction between the mobile phone and the personal computer at its best. Nokia's Series 60 phones are built on open standards and technologies, so industry-leading companies such as Apple can easily and conveniently develop and offer advanced applications like personal information management to users."
The new version of iSync is of especial use to .Mac members. In combination with iSync, they can synchronize Address Book contacts, .Mac email, iCal events, To Do lists and Safari Bookmarks.
The software requires Mac OS X 10.2.5 and iCal 1.0.2.
