iTunes has been hit by 3Com's decision to close down Kerbango, its Internet streaming-music service.

iTunes – Apple's free desktop-jukebox application – uses Kerbango to access links for live-music feeds. With its closure, Apple will need to find a new source for Internet radio-station links.

The move follows 3Com's decision to shut its Internet Appliances division in order to cut operating expenses by up to $1 billion this year. Kerbango cost 3Com $80 million when it purchased the company in June 2000.
