Business Computer News reports that Apple's new product launch in Japan has been a raging success. Apple products taking more than 50 per cent of the sales share between the 16-17 October.

Nine of the top ten desktop sales were iMacs in various configurations; the entry-level blueberry machine seizing 10.16 per cent of the market share on that day. In second place stood the Graphite iMac DV SE, with 8.48 per cent of the market. The G4 400 MHz was also in the top ten. Apple filled all the slots.

Portable computer sales statistics also impressed. Apple chalked up first place with the blueberry iBook (8.13 per cent). The G3 333 PowerBook and tangerine iBook chalked up 7.63 per cent between them. Apple occupied three of the top ten places in portable sales.
