Apple CEO Steve Jobs has reportedly delayed his first official visit to India until September this year.

Jobs had been expected to visit Apple's new research and development centre in Bangalore, India, this month.

A report explains that the decision is to give the company time to make the new centre operational. Apple is currently recruiting staff for its Indian operation, and will reportedly employ 3,000 people there by 2007.

"Jobs is said to be keen on having Apple's centre in Bangalore functional before his visit," the report explains.
