Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs was called for jury duty at Santa Clara County Superior Court, Tuesday.

Jobs, a local resident, reported to the county Hall of Justice there, dressed casually in a tan T-shirt and jeans. When asked his occupation, he grinned and replied he was "the head of a medium-sized company, and his absence would cause the company hardship". His request to be excused jury service was refused at this point, with the Judge claiming other company leaders had served on juries at no cost to their companies, according to a report on Yahoo.

Jobs was eventually excused duty as he had prepaid travel plans to attend his daughters graduation in Boston June 6.
