Keyspan’s Digital Media Remote is now 25 per cent cheaper, costing just £44.95.

The remote can control audio, video and presentation programs on Macs or PCs. It consists of a credit-card sized infrared remote and an infrared receiver that connects to the USB port.

Chip The product, which was introduced in October 1999, has sold well in the presentation and MP3 markets. The company has been able to cut its price by building the receiver on an alternative, low-speed USB chip.

The product ships with key maps for QuickTime, Apple DVD, CD and audio players. It also has in-built support for SoundJam, RealPlayer, PowerPoint and the Finder. It ships with a utility that constructs key maps for other applications.
