Kodak has announced it has licensed Apple’s QuickTime for its digital cameras. The agreement allows Kodak to build and sell digital cameras that let users create video-clips in QuickTime.

Willy Shih, senior Kodak vice president, said: “The ability to use multimedia files on the Mac or Windows operating environments was an important consideration.

"QuickTime is established, broadly used and easy to use. These are key characteristics when you want to make technology useful and fun for consumers.”

More than 50 million copies of QuickTime have been downloaded to date.
