UK Mac-friendly education software supplier Kudlian Soft has announced its new Curriculum Resource Pack to enhance the use of iLife in class.

Introduced at SETT 2004 (Scottish Education and Teaching with Technology), the Resource Pack has been designed to enhance the use of iMovie and iDVD in the classroom.

The company chose to announce the product at the Scottish education show as Macs are widely-used in education there.

The Pack offers a graphing tool for iMovie, essentially adding graphing facilities to the range of effects that can be applied to a movie clip. Charts are resizable, and can be positioned anywhere within a clip, background and transparency can also be adjusted, and the chart data editor can be launched from within iMovie.

A weather mapping resource for iMovie lets users apply weather maps to movie clips as a special effect.

Kudlian's product also offers a range of iDVD themes based around subjects including, science, maths, geography, history and so on. The themes include a subject-specific background, music and graphics.

Kudlian Soft managing director Roger Young said: "The packs will allow teachers to offer their pupils a totally new way of presenting their class work."

The product is currently in development, and should be available in late September. Pricing has not yet been announced.
