Macworld US has named the winners and the finalists of its eighteenth annual Editor's Choice Awards for 2002.

Nick-named the Eddy Awards, these recognize breakthrough product development and have been given in 27 categories this year. The awards cover products released between November 1, 2001 and November 1, 2002. Products were evaluated for quality, utility, innovation and elegance.

Macworld editor Jason Snell said: "During the past twelve months, the Mac-development community gave us a wide array of ingenious and intriguing products for Apple's new operating system, as well as old stand bys updated to take advantage of the changes Apple's software engineers have wrought on the platform. This year's award-winning products clearly indicate that the Mac is entering a remarkable new era of innovation."
