Contracted Taiwanese Mac manufacturer Quanta saw its notebook shipments grow 11 per cent in April, reports Digitimes.

The company shifted 810,000 units, up from the 730,000 units it shipped in June. It also anticipates better sales ahead, the report claims.

Quanta will also begin delivering new notebooks in June. Digitimes says: "In June, Quanta will begin delivering new notebook models to HP, Apple, NEC and Sony, further helping the company expand its notebook shipments for the second half, market sources said."

Apple announced a refreshed portable product line-up last month, boosting both its iBook and PowerBook families with faster graphics and processors at more generous prices.
