Apple's Mac mini continues to excite interest with the product selling out in three hours in South Africa, a local report claims.

Around 80 of the new machines sold through three local Apple Centres on Saturday February 26, when they went on sale. Spurred by special launch offers some began queuing in the early hours to acquire the machine.

"The two Cape Town Apple centres received about 21 Mac minis and the Johannesburg operation received about 40 units and each had about 14 new iPod Shuffles to sell," the report explains.
