Apple is already using Mac OS X 10.8 internally, with usage of the next-generation operating system increasing rapidly in recent weeks, a report claims.
MacRumors reports that it has been tracking requests from Apple-owned IP addresses as well as IP addresses in the area surrounding Cupertino and first spotted Mac OS X 10.8 back in August.
"The overall clustering is consistent with limited internal testing. We saw a very similar pattern for the early OS X 10.7 requests which began in October, 2009," MacRumors' Arnold Kim writes.
However, we've no indication of when Mac OS X 10.8 might launch, what new features it will have or even what it'll be called, though it seems fairly certain that it will have a nickname linked to a big cat.
