PC World has switched sides in the operating system debate, naming Apple's Mac OS X Tiger the number one operating system.

Tiger joins the list of 100 Best Products of 2005 in this month's issue. The magazine says: "Mac fans are already enjoying the cool features that Windows won't deliver until late 2006."

Apple's Mac mini is best small PC, along with Shuttle Computer's XPC i8600b.

The iPod photo wins in the large-capacity MP3 player category. Rio's Carbon is the midcapacity MP3 player. And iRiver is the Flash-based MP3 player winner.

The iTunes Music Store is the top for music downloads.

Apple's iTunes receives recognition in the Media Player category, but so does Microsoft's Media Player 10.

The winner in the Product Of The Year category is Mozilla's Firefox, described as " just plain better than the competition".
