Apple has unveiled a pair of goodies for .Mac subscribers, with a focus on the digital hub.
New offerings include free training in iPhoto and an online live audio presentation by Apple's iSync product manager who will offer advice in the use of iSync.
The company is presently heavily-engaged in promoting its suite of online services in an attempt to woo new users to join up, and convince existing subscribers to renew their subscriptions. Apple is offering exclusive renewal gifts to subscribers maintaining their subscription, including complimentary copies of EverQuest for Mac, which is unavailable in the UK.
In future, the company has also promised deeper integration between .Mac and its forthcoming Mac OS X 10.3 Panther upgrade.
iPhoto's a snap The iPhoto training – Going Digital with iPhoto – explores 56 topics. These include operating a digital camera, taking photos, and organizing, editing and sharing images using iPhoto. The training also explores the integration between .Mac and iPhoto. All topics are accompanied by informative QuickTime movies.
Mobile Mac The iSync presentation will help .Mac subscribers make best use of that application. A seminar – .Mac Presents: Anywhere Access shows how to access email, bookmarks, the address book and iDisk hosted files using any Internet-connected computer.
The live seminar begins at 6pm (2pm UK time) September 9. Participation is limited. "Members of the iSync product team will be online for an exclusive live session with .Mac members who want to expand their iSync knowledge beyond the basics. Got questions about how the technology works? Interested in hearing about the latest phones you can sync with your Mac? This is your chance to hear directly from the people who work on the product. You'll have the opportunity to submit questions before and during the online session," says Apple.
More information about these training initiatives is available through .Mac.
