MacExpo 2002 attendance is five per cent up on last year's show, event co-owner Bob Denton told Macworld this morning.

The event attracted 7,575 visitors yesterday, compared to the first day last year, when MacExpo attracted 7,218 visitors.

"Normally we’d expect day-two attendance to rise by five to ten per cent," Denton said.

"However, we’re concerned about what impact the firemen's strike and public transport problems will have on attendance," he added.

"It is possible that some people may use the strike as an excuse to visit the show today," he surmised.
