Macromedia has returned a loss for the first fiscal-quarter of 2002.
In an announcement of the company's software-business results, it revealed revenues for the quarter ending June 30, 2001 were $88.7 million - compared to revenues of $90.3 million reported in the same quarter a year ago.
Its net loss was $8.6 million, or a loss of $0.15 per share. However, the company said that it expected to return to profitability this fiscal year.
Macromedia has just launched the public-beta release of Sitespring, a new Web application for managing the Web site production processes.
The app reduces cycle time, eliminates file rework and decreases time spent on activities that are not business related, according to the company.
The public beta is available for download, with a final version expected to ship in early autumn. Pricing will start from £1,519 for the server and three licences.
