Macromedia and AIM Alliance (Apple, IBM, Motorola) member IBM have announced their mutual agreement on a plan that will bring the Web strategies of both companies closer together.

Macromedia customers will be able to make use of WebSphere, IBM’s Web development and deployment platform. Macromedia’s Web development software will be integrated into IBM’s solution, and IBM will licence Macromedia’s LikeMinds Personalization Server for use in future WebSphere products.

The companies hope to offer their customers bundled and integrated products and to develop joint marketing campaigns for these.

Despite this announcement, Macromedia shares still fell $3.8281 yesterday, closing at $79.4219. Apple also fell, losing $3.5625 to close at its lowest value this year, $84.
