The Cult of Mac is spreading across India, an Indian newspaper reports.

The Calcutta Telegraph reports that the Mac is slowly but steadily winning over doctors, corporate honchos, housewives, technicians and students.

But the reason why the progress of Mac mania is relatively slow, according to one Mac fan, is that Apple's computers are priced so highly.

The report detail the experiences of several "switchers" and concludes: "The PC-alternative is making greater inroads into the homes, labs and hearts of computer lovers across the city, as the Cult of Mac keeps growing bigger."
