Creative Technology, supplier of audio cards and portable audio products for the PC, has announced its support for the Mac platform.

The company said it would attend January’s Macworld Expo in San Francisco to demonstrate the first of its Mac products. These products include the Sound Blaster Live! audio cards, the Nomad lineup of portable audio devices and the WebCam Go portable-PC cameras.

Craig McHugh, president of Creative, explained the move to the Mac: "Multiple platform support is the next step in our long-term PDE [Personal Digital Entertainment] strategy. We are focused on bringing a high-quality entertainment experience to mainstream computer users. Mac desktop solutions – with their elegant consumer-friendly design and engineering – complement our goal perfectly."

The WebCam Go digital camera, which can be used for videoconferencing and for capturing Web images, is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2000. This will be closely followed by the release of Nomad – a portable MP3 audio player. Creative’s Sound Blaster Live! consumer-focused audio cards are planned for release in the second Quarter of 2000.
