The Boston IDG Macworld event is moving once again next year - to a smaller venue.
It took over a year for the show to move to Boston, where it launched in the city's brand-new South Boston Centre. However, the move saw Apple withdraw support for the summer event, while maintaining its involvement in Macworld, San Francisco. The loss of the Apple industry's main player is thought to have impacted on attendance at the event.
Speaking to the Boston Globe, IDG World Expo group president, Warwick Davies, said: "Based on feedback that we have, the show in its current size is not big enough" to fill the new centre's massive exhibit hall.
"We want people to be able to feel a lot more close together."
As a result, next year's show takes place at Boston's Hynes Centre, though that move also means IDG must renegotiate its deal with the city exhibition authorities.
