ProjectWizards has released Merlin 2, an updated version of the company's project management application for Mac OS X.

The software is available now as a public beta, and offers a newly designed user interface and heavily rewritten and optimised functions.

The software is the first project management software on the Mac that projects an expected project progression onto a Gantt chart. A Gantt chart is a bar chart that shows task or activity schedules and outcomes over time.

The software's existing integration with the Apple Address Book has been boosted with the introduction of Entourage support. Users can link projects together to evaluate them.

The import and export of files has also been improved with integration for NovaMind, OmniOoutliner and MindManager included. Projects can be synchronised using iCal.

The software costs €145 for a single user licence. Each Merlin 1 licence sold from 1 June 2006 onwards will get a free upgrade to Merlin 2. Otherwise an upgrade to version 2 costs €75.
