MetaCreations' stockholders have approved the company's merger with Viewpoint.

Due to the merger, MetaCreations changed its name to Viewpoint last Thursday.

Shareholders approved all the details of the deal - including the exchange, with Computer Associates, of $15 million of MetaCreations shares for shares in Viewpoint.

A new board of directors was also elected -
members include: Thomas Bennett, senior vice president of Computer Associates; Bruce Chizen, president of Adobe Systems; Lennert Leader, president of AOL; Samuel Jones Junior, MetaCreations director; Robert Rice, president and CEO of Viewpoint.

Rice said: "With the new board and the completion of the share exchange transaction, we're forging ahead with a stronger brand name and simplified corporate structure."

Viewpoint produces 3D solutions for the Web. It offers a Media Player, capable of handling photographic panoramas, audio, object movies and vector text.
