Microsoft's new Virtual Earth has no place for Apple, according to The Register.

It appears that Microsoft's future vision leaves empty fields where Apple HQ in Cupertino presently sits.

The Virtual Earth service aims to compete with Google Maps, but while Google shows Apple's Cupertino campus, Microsoft's virtual reality doesn't even offer a figure in a "black turtle-necked jumper".

The Register adds a second shocking observation: :MSN's Virtual Earth still shows the twin towers of the World Trade Center in all their pre-9/11 glory."
