The £169 device (which ships with a remote control) offers both analogue TV and video recording solution for any Mac and employs ElGato's EyeTV 2.0.

The solution lets users watch 125-channels of television in window or full screen mode, convert VHS tapes to DVD and record shows in the MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and DivX formats. It also includes One Click iPod export functionality.

Among other features, EyeTV 2 lets users watch, pause, rewind and skip forward live television, schedule recordings, access online TV guides and edit recorded TV shows to cut out commercials.

The TVMax requires USB 2.0, and carries an analogue tuner while being Cable TV-ready, the company claims.

Supported resolutions include: PAL/NTSC or Pal/SECAM. It carries a one-year warranty.
