Mixman Technologies, a division of Beatnik, has released Mixman Studio for the Mac.

The Mac version of the music-editing software includes features unavailable on the PC edition - such as driving Mixman Studio from a MIDI device. The software also remixes music live and in real-time.

Mixman can record vocal samples, as well as recording sounds from any audio CD or other music input device - such as a keyboard. Mixman can export files in AIFF, WAV, MP3 and G2 RealAudio formats.

The software allows real-time tempo, panning, volume and pitch control. It can also match beats automatically.

Mixman requires Mac OS 8.1 or later, a 200Mhz Power PC and at least 32MB RAM. The software costs $79.95, and can be purchased direct from the Mixman site.
