Motorola plans frequent updates to its iTunes-enabled mobile phone handset, the company has confirmed.

The company's general manager of regional operators Carson Schmidt told Pocket Lint: "This is the first phone in a series of phones that we will be launching over the next year. You can expect an announcement on a quarterly basis for new phones in the range."

Schmidt observed that creating a 3G version of the device would be an "obvious progression".

He also confirmed that the Apple Motorola deal meant his company was the first to bring such a handset to the market, but others may follow suit. "It's not just exclusive to Motorola", he explained.
