The Mozilla Foundation has released new beta versions of Firefox 1.5 and Thunderbird 1.5.

Firefox 1.5 Beta 2 is the second beta release. The final version is scheduled to ship later this year, the Foundation said.

This release offers no new features since the first beta, though performance, security and other fixes are apparent in the release.

Mozilla's email client, Thunderbird 1.5 Beta 2, offers automated updates, better email address autocompletion, a built-in spellchecker and a built-in phishing detector.

Podcasting and other RSS Improvements; server-side spam filtering integration; Kerberos authentication; mail composition auto save; and an improved user interface also feature in the release.
