RealNetworks and Macromedia have developed a media-driven e-commerce solution, that combines Macromedia’s Flash technology with RealNetworks’ RealSystem.

The solution, which has not been named, gives broadcasters the opportunity to deliver a content-rich, interactive e-commerce experience, combined with full-screen, broadband content and interactive advertising capabilities, according to the companies. The solution will be demonstrated at the RealConference, which begins May 24.

The two companies have also announced an initiative directed at Internet retailers and agencies to offer benchmarks, guides and training resources to help develop e-commerce applications based on their combined technology.
