Macworld Expo, New York last week broke previous attendance records, attracting 64,480 showgoers.

Attendance was five per cent (3,000 people) higher than 2000. Macworld Expo New York has become the largest hi-tech Expo in New York, attracting more visitors than both PC Expo and Internet World.

Macworld Expo NYC ran July 18- 20 at the Jacob K Javits Center. Apple introduced its fastest ever Power Macs, including 733MHz, 867MHz and dual processor 800MHz models in redesigned silver cases. The company also offered significant speed bumps for the iMac family, and wowed attendees with a sneak peek at Mac OS X 10.1, which ships in September.

The event was also a forum for a multitude of manufacturers to demonstrate works in progress in porting applications to OS X.
