BIAS today unveiled Peak 3.1 – the updated version of its digital-audio editing application that adds support for QuickTime 6.

Version 3.1 also includes several feature enhancements, adding support for Dolby AAC audio files. AAC is the new standard for high-quality bandwidth-restricted audio delivery. Also on offer is enhanced WAVE-file support. Markers, loops and other information are now all maintained within WAVE files created within Peak. It also supports Broadcast WAVE files.

Version 3.1 includes a Duplicate command, which is useful for loop-based composition, and there is also support for user-definable textual-menus.

"Since our recent release of Peak 3 for OS X we've been working hard to add features and improve functionality," said Peak's VP of worldwide sales Jason Davies. "

Peak 3.1 is a free upgrade to owners of version 3 and will be available through BIAS' worldwide network of dealers from August.
