Mac gamers making the annual pilgrimage to San Francisco for Macworld Conference and Expo will be able to make use of the show's huge gaming area, IDG World Expo announced yesterday.

The gaming arcade will offer an arsenal of Power Mac G5s and 17-inch iMacs. The area will highlight new games from top publishers, including Aspy and MacSoft. The event runs from January 5-9.

Sponsored by Apple, featured games titles include Halo, Unreal Tournament, Age of Mythology, Indiana Jones, Splinter Cell, Tron 2.0, Ghost Master, Republic and many more.

Potential games developers are also being offered a two-day Power Tools Conference on games development, from January 7-8. It aims to teach attendees the basics of games development, including platforms, genres, applications, story and character development, gameplay, design, art and sound.
