Berkley Integrated Audio Software (BIAS) is demonstrating Deck 3.5 at NAB 2002.

Deck 3.5 is the latest version of the company's multi-track digital-audio solution for Mac, offering several new features, including native support for Mac OS X.

As a native application, Deck 3.5 takes full advantage of Mac OS X, supporting CoreAudio and CoreMIDI (for remote fader/transport control), MIDI file playback, and Timecode with CoreMIDI-compatible audio converters.

Vice president of worldwide sales for BIAS, Jason Davies, explained: “Deck 3.5 is available exclusively on the Mac. We're especially excited to offer such a high level of power while maintaining the intuitive interface that has always made Deck popular. The addition of OMF import and real-time surround mixing capabilities makes Deck an absolute powerhouse for the digital video professional and enthusiast.”

The application supports multi-processors and is optimized for the G4's Velocity Engine. It supports up to 64 tracks of audio, real-time VST plug-in support, better than frame-accurate synchronization with QuickTime, with real-time mixing featuring level and pan automation.

Deck 3.5 ships later in the second quarter 2002. Its US price is $399. The company is offering a free upgrade to users purchasing version 3.0 of the application today for the special price of $199. The free upgrade is also available to customers who acquired the application since October 1, 2001.
