Days after opening for business in the UK Napster has launched a Canadian version of its service.

The company is offering Canada's music fans a dedicated local Web site and (as part of the launch) a free seven-day trial of the service. The subscription service will cost C$9.95 a month, while individual songs will cost C$1.19 each, or C$9.95 per album.

"More than 300,000" tracks will be available initially, and Napster has arranged a marketing alliance with local brewer Molson.
