Apple will release "eye-catching new designs" for its portable Macs next year, AppleInsider claims.

The company will also launch the first Intel processor-powered Macs earlier than it has previously suggested, the report claims.

New iBooks are already being worked on and may now ship as soon as April or May 2006, but a new Intel-inside PowerBook will be thinner, will carry a built-in iSight camera (just like the iMac) and will ship before the new iBooks.

Apple is also working hard to be one of the first PC makers to use Intel's upcoming dual-core processors, the report claims.
