A Mac OS X version of asset-management application QPict Media Organizer 5.0 has now shipped.

The application organizes images, full-screen video, MP3 files, and live streaming-audio and video. QPict views common media file-formats including images, movie clips and fonts, providing a single place to view multimedia files and fonts.

QPict supports meta data and EXIF (exchangeable image file) photo information. The program has advanced search and batch-processing capabilities. QPict offers an advanced method of uploading and downloading files without the need of a dedicated ftp (file transfer protocol) application.

Improvements to this version include support for Mac OS, enhanced export operation, three new index themes Aqua, Aqua Lite and Platinum. Improved support for multiple monitors, Merge Index, support for up to 50,000 media files in one index and a new media navigator window. There are also a number of bug fixes.

QPict Media Organizer is US$35 shareware. Version 5.0 is a free upgrade to registered users of earlier versions.
