Apple director of QuickTime product marketing Frank Casanova is to deliver a keynote at the Cellular Telephone and Internet Association (CTIA's) Wireless IT and Entertainment 2004 in San Francisco later today.

According to Apple-X, he is likely to announce the adoption of a next generation of AAC for the iPod and QuickTime.

According to Michael Bomhausser of multimedia duplication company SDC's: "The 3GPP standardized aacPlus will pave the way for music services to be the next big hit in mobile communications."

X-Apple suggests that the fact that Apple is supporting 3GPP/3GPP2 and that Vodafone, who adopted aacPlus in March of this year, is on stage with Frank Casanova "points to a sure announcement".
