Apple has said that yesterday's upgrade to its range of iBook laptops are the only changes that will be made to the line up prior to Christmas – confirming that there will not be a new PowerBook before the end of the year.

Apple's VP of worldwide Mac product marketing David Moody told MacCentral: "This new line-up of iBooks, along with the current PowerBooks we have will make-up the complete portable line-up we will be offering for the holidays."

He also described the newly updated iBook as "the obvious choice for the digital life on-the-go."
