Norton AntiVirus 8.0 and SystemWorks 2.0 utilities have rocketed to the top of Amazon UK's top ten Macintosh software sellers list.

Roxio's Toast 5.0 Titanium remains third, while Apple's next-generation operating system, Mac OS X 10.1, climbs three places to fourth. So-called "poster child" for Mac OS X development, Microsoft's Office Mac v.X (upgrade version), climbs a place to fifth place. Britannica 2002 DVD Mac Edition falls one place to sixth.

Symantec's other Norton titles – Personal Firewall 2.0, Utilities 6.0 and Utilities 7.0 – fill seventh, eighth and ninth positions respectively.

Adobe Photoshop Elements is shunted out by the company's Photoshop 7.0 OS X upgrade.

The top three books this month all concern OS X, with David Pogue's Mac OS X: The Missing Manual at number one, Aarom Hillegass' Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X in second place and Learning the Bash Shell by Cameron Newham and Bill Rosenblatt retaining third place.
