Numark is preparing to announce a new version of its popular iPod DJ mixer, the iDJ2.

iPodLounge claims the new product will offer a range of new features designed to make the device an effective live DJ mixer, including real-time scratch, pitch control, looping and full cuing of music.

The device hosts a single iPod, but is capable of playing two tracks at once from the music player. It boasts an LCD screen on which DJs can see track waveforms and other information.

It also carries a full complement of connectivity options, including USB ports, line inputs, headphone outputs and a record capacity which will copy mixes to a docked iPod.

The first report of the product appeared on Craig's List on March 26.
