Graphics-chip supplier NVidia has been awarded "company of the year" by leading industry analyst Dr Jon Peddie and his market research firm Jon Peddie Research.

NVidia, which supplies graphics cards across Apple's top-of-the-range G4 Power Macs, was also recognized as Segment Leader of the year for technology leadership – an accolade shared with IBM.

Dr Peddie said: "NVidia had an exceptional year and is a sterling example of a technology leader. The company has a solid road map, impressive product lines, incredible customer loyalty and the combined experience of many industry veterans that allowed it to grow and prosper."

Dan Vivoli, vice president of marketing for NVidia, said: "In 2001, NVidia introduced innovative products in several new markets, and we are delighted to be recognized for our technology leadership."
