Microsoft UK is demonstrating Office 2001, which will be launched October 13, for the first time at the Expo 2000, London.

The Microsoft Office 2001 Macintosh Edition includes the new email and personal-management application, Entourage. It also features updated versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer. Each Office 2001 application has a Mac-like interface.

Other software companies at the show include Macromedia, IBM, Wacom and Quark.

IBM will be showcasing ViaVoice for Mac. A speech-recognition system that enables users to create letters, reports, emails and essays by talking.
