Microsoft’s Office:Mac 2001 goes on sale today.

The suite of office tools has been given a major overhaul, and comes with a more Mac-like look and feel. It’s also designed to work better with other Macintosh applications

It contains a word processor, MS Word, a spreadsheet, Excel, presentation software PowerPoint and a mail client and PIM (personal information manager) called Entourage 2001. Entourage 2001 supports Palm handhelds, but can't synchronize data with the rival Microsoft Pocket PC.

Office 2001 also has 400 customizable templates and wizards, more than double the 150 in Office 98 Macintosh edition.

The suite costs £410, an upgrade from Office 98 costs £209.
