The affair between music and technology takes a new twist today with the Blizzard Entertainment revealing that The Offspring will appear at its next event.

The Offspring will headline the closing-night concert at BlizzCon, Blizzard's inaugural game festival. The event takes place between October 28-29, 2005, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim.

As well as a live gig by the platinum band, BlizzCon also offers gamers contests, developer question and answer panels, an official tournament, and more.
"BlizzCon will be an epic celebration of gaming culture, so we wanted to book a truly epic band for this event," said Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment.

"We're especially excited that The Offspring will help us make this a memorable occasion for our players, and we look forward to having the band bring BlizzCon to a fitting close."
BlizzCon ShowPasses, which include a ticket to the closing-night The Offspring concert, are now sold out. Tickets are not being sold separately. A limited number of the $120 tickets may be made available in October.
