Apple continues to make gains in terms of online usage statistics, according to the latest Net Applications Market Share report.
The report claims that 6.22 per cent of online traffic in January 2007 was on the Mac platform. The analysis splits that up into PowerPC Macs (4.34 per cent) and Intel-powered Macs (1.88 per cent).
That's up again on December's result, when overall share stood at 5.67 per cent. In November the statistics revealed a 5.39 per cent Mac marketshare online.
In August 2006, Macs accounted for 4.33 per cent of online traffic, according to the researchers.
To assemble its statistics, Net Applications gathers data pertaining to which browsers site visitors use to access its network of 40,000 cooperating websites. Information is aggregated to arrive at the mean figures.
