Orange Micro has announced the OrangeLink, a combined USB and FireWire PCI adaptor.

The OrangeLink is a seven-inch PCI card with two USB and two FireWire ports, that draw power from the PCI bus of the host system.

According to Orange Micro, the OrangeLink uses the new OHCI FireWire technology – similar to that used on Apple’s G4 – and is compatible with all known peripherals conforming to FireWire and USB specifications.

The OrangeLink ships with Adobe Premiere LE video-editing software, aimed at beginners, so users can connect DV camcorders to the FireWire ports for input, output and video editing.
